WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE 2 LIGHTS ON THE CMXLHB5?

The CMXLHB5 features two red led which are used as charging indicators. These flash when charging and solid once fully charge. They are also for Area Light for low light use such as reading a map or working on a project where white light may be excessive; and, as a personal safety light such as bicycling or taking a walk.
